Descent of the Virgen de El Socorro

This pilgrimage is the oldest of those celebrated throughout the Canary Islands. It is celebrated every seven September and runs the route from the Church of San Pedro, in the town center, to the hermitage of the Virgin in Playa del Socorro. It commemorates the appearance of Our Lady of Help to the Guanches in Chimisay Beach. The next day, the image of the Virgin goes back to the village to return to the Church
