Romería de San Agustín

The pilgrimage of San Agustín, typical Canarian festival that is celebrated on the Saturday before the last Sunday of August. There are numerous parrandas, rondallas and oxcarts that run through the main streets of the town, in a climate of great animation. It began to be celebrated in 1975 and in 1982 it was granted by the Secretary of State for Tourism the honorary title of "Festival of Tourist Interest" so all people who participate in it are required to be dressed in the typical costume.
