The tobacco in La Palma

The exhibition "Tobacco on La Palma, an island between chinchales" is a bet of the Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage to recover and value the Ethnography collections of the island council. The performance is carried out in collaboration with La Investigadora Society, one of the most traditional socio-cultural institutions on the island, settling in one of the most emblematic buildings of the historical-artistic complex of the capital of La Palma. The exhibition hall called "Urcéolo, sample of traditional industries" intends to offer a temporary exhibition every year on some of the trades and tasks that have characterized the island. The first one is dedicated to tobacco culture, one of the sectors that has left the greatest mark on local identity.
