City Ladies

The Teatro Guiniguada presents "City Ladies", a play that pays tribute to the Canarian writer Alonso Quesada, a key figure in the Canary Islands’ literary tradition. Inspired by his chronicles, the piece offers a glimpse into island society in the early 20th century, accompanied by an “all-ladies orchestra” that enriches the staging. The production highlights Quesada’s literary legacy and his connection with fellow writers Saulo Torón and Tomás Morales—members of the “Generation of Three”—who masterfully captured the essence of their time in the Canary Islands.
