Caña Dulce and La Concepción Festivities

The Sugar Cane and La Concepción Festivities in Jinámar, Gran Canaria, are a traditional celebration held in honor of the Immaculate Conception and are officially declared a Festival of Tourist Interest. This event combines cultural, sporting, and religious activities, including the opening proclamation, concerts, craft exhibitions, tastings of local products, and the popular “Gran Chupada” (mass sugar cane tasting). In addition, there are displays of traditional games and Canary Islands wrestling, performances by traditional music groups, and fireworks, highlighting the cultural richness and strong sense of community of this historic celebration.
