Fiestas de la Virgen de la Peña

On the third Saturday in September the Fiestas of Nuestra Señora de la Peña, patron saint of Fuerteventura, are held. Pilgrims, pilgrims and visitors from all over the island flock to this sanctuary to pay tribute to her. On this day the figure is adorned with a beautiful mantle and is paraded in a pilgrimage in what are the most special and beloved celebrations of the year.
