El Hierro
The Chinchorro Festival in Honor of San Agustín in Timijiraque, El Hierro, begins with a Mass in honor of San Agustín, followed by an emotional procession in which the image of the saint is accompanied by local Danzadores (traditional dancers). Next, the traditional Calada del Chinchorro takes place, an activity that revives the ancient chinchorro fishing technique deeply rooted in the local culture. During this activity, participants, both residents and visitors, work together to capture fish using traditional methods, thus preserving an ancestral tradition. Once the fishing is done and the fish are collected, attendees gather for a communal meal where they share the fruits of their labor and strengthen community bonds. The day concludes with a Night Party at the "Amanecer Latino" beach, where the celebration continues with music, dancing, and a festive atmosphere.
