Scuba diving at montaña Amarilla

Diving around volcanic reefs in the south of Tenerife

Montaña Amarilla is a beautiful coastal hill formed by yellow volcanic ash and sculpted by erosion. Its beauty continues under the surface of the sea surrounding it, with an underwater lunar volcanic reef landscape and large rocky volcanic spires with arches and caves. Located in the south of the island of Tenerife, near the resort town and marina of Las Galletas, this dive will delight the eye wherever you look.

A dive suitable for all levels from the Las Galletas marina

The dive point can be reached from the shore, although it is more convenient from the Las Galletas marina. After just a mile and a half on a boat, anchor in the sheltered bay of Montaña Amarilla. With weak currents and an average depth of 15 metres and a maximum of 25, this dive is suitable for divers with various levels of experience. Glass eye fish and moray eels rest in the darkness of the caves and reef terraces, while in the surrounding sands, garden eels, flounder and angel fish can all be seen.
