Diving en La Burrera

A dive in the midst of marine life to the north of Lanzarote
La Burrera, one of the best dives in the Canary Islands, is a reward for the experienced diver and lover of marine life. It is a reward because it needs the right ocean and current conditions, and also because the dive is spectacular, as much for its marine life as for its labyrinthine landscape which the diver will find 20 metres below the surface. It is a half an hour boat ride from the village of Caleta de Sebo, on the island of La Graciosa, to the north of Lanzarote.
Diving in a labyrinth of rocks
The rocky sandy depths of La Burrera are between the islets of La Graciosa and Montaña Clara, in one of the three Marine Reserves of Fishing Interests of the Canary Islands. This spot is free of the voracious long-spined urchins which means its rocky outcrops hold onto their forests of algaes. Its labyrinthine landscape with its large rocks, columns and ledges is home to shoals of horse mackerel and striped grunts as well as large specimens of grouper, Canarian lobster, sea bream and Bermuda chub.
