El Socorro beach

Blue flag and accessible beach

El Socorro is one of the best volcanic-sand beaches in the north of Tenerife. Located in Los Realejos, it has a blue flag because it provides all the services necessary for affording comfort and enjoyment to its visitors. It has also been classified as an “accessible beach”, as it is fully adapted to people with reduced mobility and has reserved parking, showers, ramps and access walkways. The sunset creates a truly amazing scene here: extraordinary views that will help you to fully disconnect. The “chiringuitos” (beach bars) alongside it are the ideal place for a delicious snack or drink at the seaside.

Spectacular views of the north of Tenerife

This fantastic, dark-sand beach stretching for more than 200 metres has lots of parking, which makes it easy to access, and Wi-Fi zones that visitors find very useful. It also has a pleasant entertainment area, “El Puntito de El Socorro”, with games, reading and a snack bar, perfect for a leisurely day at the beach. This is a favourite beach for surf and nature enthusiasts. The waves break far out from the shore, so it is ideal for both surfers and swimmers, who can enjoy the spectacular views of the north of Tenerife.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Do not use soap or gel in the showers located at the entrance to the beach.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
- Pets are prohibited at most beaches. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
