Costa Calma beach

Two kilometres of tourist beach close to La Lajita
Situated in the south of Furteventura, close to the town of La Lajita, you’ll find Playa de Costa Calma – Costa Calma beach - two kilometres of white sand and refreshing turquoise waters. Its idyllic shoreline invites you to stroll along the sand, admiring the impressive views of a coastline full of ochre mountains, smoothed by years of erosion. Protected from the wind by the hotels and apartments, a dip in the sea is just a few short sandy steps away from your hotel terrace or pool.
A sandy white beach with water sports in Fuerteventura
Costa Calma beach is just one of a number of stretches that are linked during low tide. In the northern section there are two small family beaches. When the wind picks up, the southern section is perfect for surfing and windsurfing lessons. The range of accommodation available near the beach ensures an excellent range of services such as sunbeds and parasols for hire, lifeguard cover, and lots of water-based activities. The access road is flanked by local vegetation making Costa Calma an authentic oasis in the white sand.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Do not use soap or gel in the showers located at the entrance to the beach.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
- Pets are prohibited at most beaches. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
