White houses and palm groves in the south-east of La Gomera
The best view of the hamlet of Taguluche, in the south-west of La Gomera, is, without doubt, from the El Santo lookout point along the road that will take you there. From here you can see a beautiful valley with small white houses dotted about a majestic palm grove, one of the most important groves in the Canary Islands and listed as an official Place of Interest by the EU. In the village itself you will discover a picturesque rural settlement where man and nature live happily side by side.
A hamlet with a sea view
Flanked by vertical rock faces adding to the sense of smallness, Taguluche looks out to sea from the bottom of the ravine where it sits. The resident population have adapted to their surroundings and cultivate the land in terraces, giving the hamlet its emblematic stepped look. The springs in the area keep the land fertile, while stone walkways take you up and down the ravine and in among the small rural homes with their tiled roofs, many of which have been restored. Let yourself get carried away!
