A pathway along which to see laurel forest
Located in the northeast of the island of La Palma, Cubo de la Galga can be done in two ways: a circular route in the more spectacular area of laurel forest or choose the longer route which the path connects with La Galga Mountain, the viewpoint at San Bartolomé and continue on to Puntallana or San Andrés y Sauces. To complement the route, but outside this area, local dishes are served in the outdoor restaurants in the vicinity.
A trekking route suitable for all trekkers
Cubo de la Galga route can be done with children or elderly people, and it starts among brushwood and small shrubs and finishes up among specimens of Myrica faya, Canary Island heaths and other shrubs typical of the undergrowth in the Canary Islands. The route is about 12 kilometres long, with a maximum inline of 750 metres which means it is doable in about four hours. As always, take suitable clothing and footwear as well as food and liquid to enjoy a light lunch along the way.
