A pathway through Jandía Natural Park
A dirt track which unites Morro Jable with Jandía marks the start of this spectacular route of great natural value. It is the pathway which starts at the foot of Gran Valle, in the south of Fuerteventura and finishes in the ever beautiful wild beach in Cofete. This is an easy two and a half hour walk, on which we can enjoy the countryside with its ever changing colours. This is Jandía Natural Park explored through one of its most important mountain ranges and which is also home to a botanic jewel-the Jandía Spurge.
Walk down to the beach at Cofete
This almost six and a half kilometre route starts on the northern slope of the ravine, among Canary Island Spurge and Euphoria. An impressive wall which stands alone in the Gran Valle riverbed, crossing from one side to the other, is prior to aborigine remains. Almost without realizing you climb up to a deep hollow, where a pleasant descent along the southern slope begins until you reach the beautiful never ending beach at Cofete. Here we have nature at its finest, which is in sharp contrast to the enigmatic House of Winter, with its hamlet and an ancient cemetery on the sand. A silent arid landscape.
