Every single day someone takes a paragliding jump from Adeje’s mountains. This borough in the south of Tenerife is home to some of the best areas for paragliding in the whole of the Canary Islands, and Taucho is, without doubt, one of them. An attractive site for paragliding enthusiasts, which consistently brings pilots in from all over Europe, however it is a destination recommended only for the most experienced paragliders, due to the fact that this area is very different from the others and the flight is leeward (downwind), not windward (upwind).
Test area for the Canarian Paraglidig League
The technique and quality of Taucho are so good (it has strong hot air currents) that around 70% of the Canarian Paragliding League’s tests are caried out there, as well as the fact that it attracts pilots from all over who come to test new equipment and improve their jumps. A flight over these peaks provides incredible views such as that over the Barranco del Infierno, Ifonche and the Guaza mountain. You arrive at the take-off site via the road from Adeje to Los Gigantes, through Las Moraditas, after which you need to walk around 15 minutes.
