Paragliding in Izaña

One of the best flights in the highest area of Spain

Located right in the centre of Tenerife, Izaña has it all, a fact that makes it one of the best flights in Spain. The highest glide in the country and with one of the biggest drops, take off is situated at 2,200 metres above sea level in the Teide National Park – the highest peak in Spain. From there the 45-minute flight drops right down to sea level, taking you over the beautiful Orotava Valley and to the tourist resort of Puerto de la Cruz.

A jump for experts and amateurs alike

Izaña is the ideal spot for both expert pilots and beginners to paragliding. It is a calm flight with no sudden surprises and mild to moderate winds blowing in a north to north-easterly direction. A gentle slope provides help with take-off, which is located at kilometre 33 of the C-824 back road, in the vicinity of Teide National Park. Enjoy the flight down and choose one of three landing sites in Puerto de la Cruz: the beaches of Playa Jardín or Martiánez, or, alternatively the esplanade nest to the quay.
