Fuencaliente Lighthouse

A volcanic trail

The former and current lighthouses of Fuencaliente coexist, located in the municipality which shares their name on the island’s southern tip. Las Salinas is nearby, a place rich in history where beautiful shades of sea salt are dried. In order to arrive, you must cross the Teneguía volcanic badlands

Two lighthouses

The old Fuencaliente Lighthouse has been recently restored, and you can visit the Lighthouse Keeper’s House at its base. The new lighthouse is painted in striking red and white stripes. Echentive Beach is nearby, a lagoon which is green because of the sea water that enters far down the coast and is filtered through the rocks. After visiting the lighthouse, a dip in the lagoon’s waters can be both relaxing and inspirational as you take in the surrounding nearly lunar landscape.
