The Beat of Rhythm

The CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife presents “The Beat of Rhythm”, a program within the Chamber Cycle of the Foundation that highlights the primordial force of percussion. The concert features two works in which this instrumental family steps out of its usual supporting role to become the protagonist, engaging in dialogue with the violin and the flute. Lou Harrison’s Concerto for Violin and Percussion Ensemble brings a sound world shaped by Asian influences and a hypnotic character.
