Librea of Tegueste

Tegueste hosts the Librea, a historical reenactment declared a Site of Cultural Interest that dates back to the 17th century and evokes ancient traditions of gratitude to the patron saints for protecting the town from epidemics and pirate attacks. The performance transforms the streets into a grand stage where residents dressed in traditional costumes recreate scenes of rural life and the religious customs of the time.
