"Domitila" arrives at Teatro Leal de La Laguna presented by Ópera en minúscula, as a delicate chamber opera composed by João Guilherme Ripper. Inspired by the real-life correspondence between King Pedro I of Brazil and the Marchioness Domitila de Castro, the work brings to the stage an impossible romance shaped by duty and passion. Through a dramatic monologue that gives voice to multiple characters, the protagonist relives her story through letters, memories, and inner turmoil, with a symbolic staging that reflects the emotional conflict of characters trapped in their own bonds.
