Romería en honor a San Alejo

On 5 May, El Tanque will be filled with fervour with its pilgrimage in honour of San Alejo, one of the longest pilgrimages in Tenerife. Around 500 people will accompany the saint from the main parish of San Antonio de Padua in the historic town centre to the temple of the Santísimo Cristo del Calvario, in Cruz Grande. This event is an example of the deep tradition and devotion that characterise the community, where celebration unites people in an atmosphere of faith and joy.
