Romería de las Marías

The festival is celebrated every year on the third weekend of September and consists of two main acts: the Descent of the Branch from the midlands to Guide on Saturday and the Procession and Pilgrimage on Sunday at noon. During the celebration of these two acts highlights the sound of the snails or bucios and drums (allegory to the elements used to scare the plague). As for the pilgrimage, it is said that it is one of the purest, beautiful and traditional in the Canary Islands.
