Temporary Exhibition: Xaxo

Tenerife-born artist Nayra Martín Reyes presents Xaxo, an installation that questions the role of colonialism and museums in shaping historical narratives. Taking as its starting point the case of a Guanche mummy sent in 1763 to King Charles III, the work invites reflection on how and where cultural heritage should be exhibited, reclaiming the original term xaxo and advocating for the symbolic restitution of these bodies to their community of origin.
