The Devil of San Miguel

The Devil of San Miguel in Breña Alta is a traditional performance that symbolically and festively reenacts the battle between Good and Evil on the eve of the Archangel’s feast day. San Miguel Square and its surroundings become a stage of light, fire, and music, featuring processions, allegorical verses, parades with giant figures, fireworks, and the iconic appearance of the Devil—dancing among sparks until he surrenders before an illuminated cross.
