Fiestas Fundacionales de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Founded on 24 June 1478, with the original name of El Real de las Tres Palmas, this city celebrates the anniversary of its founding with enthusiasm every summer. The exciting programme of cultural activities and open-air shows in the historical surroundings of Vegueta is carried out every Saint John’s Eve, the eve of the anniversary of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with a night of spectacular fireworks on the Playa de Las Canteras.
