Fiestas de San Roque en Tinajo

La Fiesta de San Roque is celebrated every August 16th in the Municipality of Tinajo. During the first half of August, Tinajo comes alive with festivities to honor its patron saint. The Town Hall, along with the Festival Committee and the Church, organize a variety of cultural and religious events in San Roque Square. These include religious processions, folkloric offerings, musical performances, dances, competitions, and more. The Church of San Roque, originally built as a hermitage in 1679 and expanded after volcanic eruptions in 1738, is a focal point of the celebrations, renowned for housing the island's first sundial, installed in 1851 by a local sailor.
