Seniors’ Day

As part of the festivities of the Bajada de la Virgen de Los Reyes, the Día del Mayor (Seniors’ Day) is celebrated — a day dedicated to honoring the elderly of the island and recognizing their essential role in the community. The event takes place at the Valverde Sports Center and includes transportation services from various associations and care homes to ensure broad participation. Hosted by Canarian comedian Yaneli, the celebration features musical performances by Pepe Benavente and Herreños Boys, creating a festive and heartfelt atmosphere filled with gratitude toward the generations who have shaped the living history of El Hierro.
