Fiesta de El Golfo

El Golfo festivities is a prominent celebration held as part of the Bajada de la Virgen de los Reyes, the patron saint of the island of El Hierro. Every four years, during this quadrennial event, the image of the Virgin is carried from her sanctuary to the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria in the El Golfo Valley, where she remains for two nights. During her stay, processions pass through iconic sites such as the Joapira bell tower, Las Lapas, and Tigaday, allowing residents and visitors to express their devotion and take part in cultural and religious events that strengthen the identity and traditions of the Herreño community.
