Festivities of Isora

Festivities of Isora is a traditional celebration in the village of Isora, on the island of El Hierro, held as part of the festivities of the Bajada de la Virgen de los Reyes, the island’s patron saint. Every four years, during this quadrennial event, the image of the Virgin is carried from her sanctuary in La Dehesa to the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción in Valverde, passing through several villages on the island, including Isora. The Virgin’s arrival in Isora is a moment of deep devotion and joy for the locals, who organize processions through the village streets, visiting iconic sites such as Tompérez, Cercados Viejos, La Asomada, and Ferinto.
