El Pinar Festivity

El Pinar Festivity is a traditional celebration in the village of El Pinar, on the island of El Hierro, and forms part of the journey of the Virgen de los Reyes during the Bajada, a quadrennial event in honor of the island’s patron saint. During this festivity, the Virgin is carried in procession from the Church of San Antonio Abad, through streets decorated with pinecones that provide shade and create a festive atmosphere. The route includes stops at iconic places such as El Mentidero and El Gusano, where other religious images—like San Esteban and the Virgin of Carmen from La Restinga—join the procession, reflecting the devotion of the local communities.
