El Mocanal Festivity

El Mocanal Festivity is a traditional celebration in the village of El Mocanal, on the island of El Hierro, and forms part of the journey of the Virgen de los Reyes during the Bajada, a quadrennial event in honor of the island’s patron saint. After her arrival from Valverde, the Virgin is warmly welcomed by the residents of El Mocanal, who decorate the streets and organize various religious and festive events. The day includes the celebration of the Eucharist at the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, followed by a procession through the main streets of the village.
