Diving in Veril de Playa Chica

Crystal clear water for diving across from Puerto del Carmen

Veril de Playa is the star diving spot on the island of Lanzarote. Just across from the southern tourist resort of Puerto del Carmen is the big sloping sand platform which ends in a cliff which goes from 15 to 40 metres in depth and which has shelves, caves and small hollows. This coast of crystal clear and usually calm waters is easily accessible on foot and the diver can choose various options depending on the group involved, experience and the day’s itinerary.

Diving in Lanzarote for novice and expert divers

Beginners have a sand platform and the high part of the cliff is the perfect place for the baptism of first time divers and also for snorkellers Experts can explore a small wreck at a depth of 30 metres, home to the famous enormous grouper Félix. By going down another 15 metres accompanied by groups of bream and grunt fish you will get to the Shrimp Cave, inhabited by shoals of shrimp. And what better than a fresh fish dish in the local fishermen’s association after the dive?
