Playa Honda Beach

A haven of peace between Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen

Honda Beach is located in a strategic place between Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife. It is located between two of the most bustling places in Lanzarote and yet it is a haven of peace and disconnection. The beach stretches for almost two kilometers along its endless promenade, where many people practice sports to breathe fresh air and enjoy the immensity of the sea. Its waters are usually calm despite being a place often battered by the wind, although it is usually more constant than violent. Therefore, it has excellent conditions for windsurfing and other water sports

The development of Honda Beach

The beach is located next to Lanzarote Airport, in the development of Honda Beach. This residential area emerged about 40 years ago to become one of the preferred areas for Lanzarotans looking to settle in a central and lively place, but quiet enough and far enough away from Puerto del Carmen, one of the most bustling areas of the island. There are also numerous bars and restaurants in the area.

Sustainability

- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Do not use soap or gel in the showers located at the entrance to the beach.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
- Pets are prohibited at most beaches. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
