The Living Nativity Scene of Tigaiga, in Los Realejos, Tenerife, is a tradition dating back to 1972, where residents transform the neighborhood streets into settings that evoke Nazareth and Bethlehem. Every December 25th, under the light of torches replacing streetlights, a theatrical reenactment takes place in which participants, dressed in period costumes, recreate key scenes from the Nativity of Jesus. Tigaiga Street, from the Tigotán Neighborhood Association to the Plaza de la Hispanidad, becomes a stage that brings biblical locations to life, with shepherds, merchants, and Romans interacting in an atmosphere that transports visitors to ancient times.
