Reinaldo Ribeiro: Samba

Samba is a solo dance piece created and performed by Reinaldo Ribeiro, in which the Brazilian artist explores his roots through Carnival, the world's largest open-air spectacle. In this work, the body becomes a space of contradictions, reflecting the tension between celebration and restraint, excess and norm. Inspired by his personal story, Samba goes beyond the individual to address universal themes such as identity, immigration, queerness, politics, gender, and violence, transforming into a space for reflection through movement.
