23 April 2025
The Theater Around Alonso Quesada presents "Ladies of the City", a play that pays tribute to the Canarian writer, the central figure of Letras Canarias 2025. Based on his chronicles, the piece offers a glimpse into island society at the beginning of the 20th century, accompanied by a "ladies' orchestra" that enriches the staging. The play highlights the literary legacy of Alonso Quesada, a key figure in Modernism and Postmodernism, and his connection with Saulo Torón and Tomás Morales, fellow members of the Generation of Three, who masterfully captured the essence of early 20th-century Canary Islands. This event is organized in collaboration with the Book Unit of the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development.
