Giulio Cesare in Egitto

The Teatro Guimerá, in collaboration with Ópera de Tenerife, presents a semi-staged production of the Baroque opera "Giulio Cesare in Egitto" by George Frideric Handel. The story is set during Julius Caesar's Egyptian campaign (48–47 BC) and follows his arrival in Egypt, where he meets and falls in love with Cleopatra, amidst political and familial intrigues involving her brother Ptolemy. The cast features renowned performers such as Raffaele Pe as Giulio Cesare and Marie Lys as Cleopatra, under the musical direction of Ottavio Dantone and stage direction by Bruno Berger-Gorski.
