Exposición La otra mitad: mujeres artistas en Canarias

The exhibition The Other Half: Women Artists in the Canary Islands brings together more than 70 works by 37 women artists born between 1815 and 1952. The main objective is to question the hegemonic stories and narratives of Art History to recover the names and works of female creators, mostly unknown or ignored, and present them under a new prism: that of the gender perspective. Many of the works in this exhibition, which includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, enamels, ceramics and jewelry, are being shown to the public for the first time and belong to private collections and to institutions, museums and art centers in the Canary Islands.
