The XXIII Contemporary Theater Festival "Encuentros" presents Bodas de Sangre. Cientos de Pájaros Te Impiden Andar, a stage production that blends singing, flamenco dance, contemporary dance, acting, and video projections. This co-production by Ábrego Producciones (Spain) and Desdelsur Teatro (Argentina), premiered in 2010 in Santander, explores the conflict between imposed values and individual freedom, questioning violence through an innovative perspective on Lorca’s universe. Featuring María Vidal in a solo performance, the play intertwines three tragic stories: the one that inspired Lorca in 1928, Bodas de Sangre, and the poet’s own life, offering a renewed and profound reinterpretation of his legacy.
