Anniversary of the Tao, Nuevo del Fuego, and Tinguatón Eruptions

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, together with the UNESCO Global Geopark Lanzarote and Chinijo Archipelago, commemorates the 200th anniversary of the last volcanic eruptions on Lanzarote in 1824, which gave rise to the Tao, Nuevo del Fuego (Chinero), and Tinguatón volcanoes. Activities include educational storytelling sessions in Teguise and Tinajo, the III International Conference on Volcanic Risk Mitigation, the screening of the documentary The Memory of the Volcano, and an exhibition of texts and photographs. This event highlights the geological heritage and historical memory of the island.
