The Night of Light

The "Night of Light" in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, part of the Patron Saint Festivities of Santa Lucía and Los Labradores, is celebrated on December 12th and begins with an evening pilgrimage to the Cruz del Siglo, where participants, carrying lanterns and candles, initiate a symbolic descent toward the historic center. Accompanied by the "Swedish Lucia," a young woman dressed in white with a crown of candles representing light and hope, attendees join in this tradition, which culminates in the town with cultural, musical, and folkloric events, reinforcing a sense of identity and community.
