En torno a Shostakovich

Around Shostakovich is a highlighted event in which the acclaimed conductor Constantinos Carydis, winner of the Carlos Kleiber Prize and considered one of the most brilliant conductors of our time, makes his debut in Spain with the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra. Carydis will present a program focused on one of the most representative figures of the 20th century, Dmitri Shostakovich, performing the Cello Concerto No. 1 with Alexey Stadler as soloist, as well as Symphony No. 9. Additionally, the repertoire will be enriched with two innovative works by composers who also shone as conductors: Burial by Dimitri Mitropoulos and Blumine by Gustav Mahler.
