Arxis Ensemble in concert

The Contemporary Festival in Gran Canaria once again features the renowned conductor Nacho de Paz, who will lead Arxis Ensemble, a group based in Galicia dedicated to enriching the contemporary scene through performances of repertoire from the 20th and 21st centuries. The concert program will include pieces composed in the last 18 years, with a highlight being the premiere of a work by a yet-to-be-determined Canarian composer. The repertoire includes Rebecca Saunders' "Stirrings Still II" (2006-08) with a duration of 12 minutes, Alberto Posadas' "Fata Morgana" (2017) lasting 18 minutes, a 10-minute piece by a Canarian composer, and José Manuel López López's "Desde dentro" (2021) with a duration of 18 minutes. The event promises to offer a rich and varied contemporary musical experience.
