Al compás de la Zarzuela

The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium will host the gala "Al compás de la Zarzuela," presented by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring the prominent soprano Leonor Bonilla, who has received awards such as the Plácido Domingo Award for Best Spanish Singer and the Teatro de La Zarzuela Award for Best Zarzuela Singer. The gala will also include mezzosoprano Sandra Ferrández, tenor Airam Hernández, and baritone Javier Franco, under the direction of Rafael Sánchez-Araña. The program will feature 16 iconic excerpts from 20th-century zarzuelas, including the Preludio from 'La alegría de la huerta' by Federico Chueca, the 'Canción del Ruiseñor' from 'Doña Francisquita' by Amadeo Vives, and 'Madrileña Bonita' from 'La del manojo de rosas' by Pablo Sorozábal, offering a fresh interpretation of the genre's great classics.
