Sardina

A popular dive in northeast Gran Canaria

One of the most popular dives zones amongst local divers in Gran Canaria. Sardina is in front of the charming fishing village of Sardina del Norte close to Galdar and Agaete towns in northeast Gran Canaria. Access to the dive site is via the village’s stone jetty. Sardina has no currents and is perfect for divers and snorkelers of all levels. The amount of marine life surprises even experienced divers.

Night dive with extensive marine life

The clear water and pristine bottom means that Sardina is an excellent day and night dive. However, the explosion of activity that occurs after dark is worth experiencing. Octopus, squat lobsters, sea slugs and even seahorses emerge while on the the sandy areas toadfish, rays, John Dory’s and angel sharks appear. Time your dive to end before 23.00 and you can eat local specialities right by the jetty.
