Wine from over 200 farmers in Tenerife
The regional Valle de Güímar Winery is located in Arafo, in south-east Tenerife. With the capacity to process up to one million litres of wine, its installations include rooms for harvesting, fermentation, bottling, storage, ageing and cava making facilities. There are also spacious gardens and parking places. The winery uses the crops from two hundred farmers in the Güímar Valley, whose 1,500 hectares of vineyards are situated between 200 and 1,500 metres above sea level.
Volcanic soil in one of the highest vineyards in Europe.
It is, in fact, one of the highest wine producing regions in the whole of Europe, and the grapes benefit from the quality of the volcanic soil with constant trade wines, a high light index and gentle climate. All the white and red wines produced are bottled under the Valle de Güímar Designation of Origin. The winery runs guided tours for the public as well as wine tastings from Mondays – Saturdays by previous appointment.
