Puerto de la Cruz

A traditional tourist destination
Under the watchful gaze of Mount Teide, the third highest volcano in the world, and bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, tourists have been falling in love with Puerto de la Cruz since the nineteenth century. Located in the north of Tenerife, visitors to this town can stroll amongst typical Canarian buildings found alongside beautifully kept beaches, or enjoy a day out at Loro Parque zoo. To unwind, there’s nowhere better than Lago Martiánez; a beautiful complex of saltwater swimming pools, designed by César Manrique.
A tailor-made holiday in the north of Tenerife
With a large variety of hotels on offer, visitors will find it easy to choose one that suits their needs. Its close proximity to Teide National Park and its easy accessibility make this town a key point when getting to know Tenerife. Puerto de la Cruz is a place where Canarian culture and relaxation combine, a place where visitors can not only enjoy the sea but also the unique landscape of the north of the island.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Respect and look after the different items of public furniture (information panels, railings, seats, lighting, etc.).
- Use the waste- paper baskets and, insofar as possible, separate and place your recycling waste in the appropriate containers.
