Going shopping in the Canary Islands is full of advantages. One of them is the wide range of different shops found on the islands. They range from open air markets where you can buy local handicrafts, antiques or costume jewellery to large commercial centres with the most important international designer names as well as a varied selection of restaurants, cinemas and leisure areas. The quality of Canary products is another of the advantages. Cheese, wine, honey and other local products or Canary brands of swimwear, along with prints by artists such as Cesar Manrique are usually to be found in visitors’ suitcases. But the best thing about shopping in the Canary Islands is, no doubt, the fact that the tax is the lowest in Europe, thus enabling you to buy almost any product cheaper. You can’t ask for more.
