Museo del Traje José Luis Lorenzo Barreto

The Palmense tradition of fabrics
Tijarafe has years of history and tradition behind it. José Luis Lorenzo Barreto had an important role in the promotion of the local culture. In the museum named in his honour on Calle Real number four, visitors can discover regional clothes from La Palma and local art. Traditional everyday work clothes and clothes for special occasions are exhibited in a rotating basis in the upper part of the library.
In the heart of Tijarafe
There is an envious selection of linens, silks and fabrics, exhibited in the José Luis Lorenzo Barreto Ethnographic Museum. You can take a look at the dozens of mannequins showing off the best that Palmense clothing has to offer in the centre of Tijarafero. The site can be reached by car along the LP-1 that runs through the small town of Tijarafe. The local area has adequate parking, places to eat, and access to nearby beaches. The bus line 100 brings you to the town from different points on the island.
