Festividad de la Virgen de Las Nieves

Every five years, between June and August, Santa Cruz de la Palma celebrates the Bajada de la Virgen de Las Nieves, the patroness of the island. For over a month, the streets are filled with festive and religious activities. The celebration begins with the Romería, where pilgrims carry the Virgin's throne, and the Semana Chica kicks off with the famous Pandorga parade. In the Semana Grande, highlights include the Danza del Minué and the iconic Danza de los Enanos, which fill the city with rhythm and color. The celebration culminates with the Loa de Recibimiento, an emotional musical piece that welcomes the Virgin in the Plaza de España.
